Meet The Doctors

Dr. Clare Leonard offers high quality comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages, with an emphasis on preventive care.

Dr. Clare L. Leonard

Dr. Clare L. Leonard graduated from the University of Alabama School of Optometry in 2001 with honors. She received both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Biology from UAB.

Prior to attending the University of Alabama in Birmingham, she attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and was a member of the Million Dollar Band.

During optometry school, Dr. Clare L. Leonard participated in the Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity and enjoyed providing eye care in Central America. She was also a member of the Golden Key and Beta Sigma Kappa honor societies.

Dr. Leonard is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association. She is a past president of the West Florida Optometric Association.

Dr. Leonard spends a large portion of her time in her practice managing glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye patients. She also has special interests in contact lens services and enjoys working with new technology for those with irregular corneas such as keratoconus or post corneal surgery patients.

Dr. Leonard also spends time away from the office with her husband and children. She loves to travel with her family and experience different cultures. A big fan of the beach, you just might find her paddle boarding on Perdido Key on the weekends.

Dr. Mary Charbonneau

Dr. Mary Charbonneau is a Florida native and has been an optometrist since 1999, graduating from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.

She completed a residency at the VA Medical Center in Tennessee through Southern College of Optometry. She practiced in Jacksonville, FL for 8 years with a large Ophthalmology group while teaching courses for Optometric Assistants at Florida Community College.

She is a past president of the Northeast Florida Optometric Association and was selected as Alumni of the Year in 2008.

Dr. Charbonneau enjoys working with patients of all ages. She has special interests in low vision and ocular disease management.

She is married to fellow optometrist, Dr. Charles Charbonneau. They have four beautiful young children.
